Why is it that when a black rapper wears Gucci or Burberry it’s cool, but when a white guy wears it he’s gay?

I mean you see these black rappers all the time wearing Burberry, Gucci, YSL, Fendi in music videos, and in real life and they brag about it and rap about all those brands and everyone thinks they’re “PIMP” or “GANGSTA”, but when an average white guy wears those brands, or even brings up fashion everyone assumes he must be gay.

For example:
Nelly can name drop Gucci in a song like “Hot in Herre”, and wear a Gucci hat in a music video like “Dilemma” or a Gucci shirt with the words “GUCCI” in large print across his chest and no one will think twice. Or Jay-Z can rap about numerous luxury brands, and Ja Rule can wear Burberry shirts with the check pattern all over it with a Burberry hat and he’s cool.

Basically black guys can be little pretty boys and everyone thinks he’s straight, but if you aren’t black, a rapper or G@NG$T@ then you’re automatically gay it seems. Any thoughts on this?

Black people tend to define what is cool, that ’tis why.

People seem to value us for being unique, branching out and trying different things.

Because rappers “Go they own way”

And “pretty boys” are looked at as gay in the black comunnity too.

wow… I haven’t heard anyone call nor say their PIMP in so long! hahahaha. That’s so funny. Who told you that a white guy is gay if they wear a well known designer brand? I’ve never heard that ever. I feel like you made that up. Two no ones “GANGSTA” for wearing it, stop assuming just because a rapper is wearing it their trying to say its gangsta, that’s not the case at all, they are wearing it because STYLE. Gosh…..

Because they have the right swagger. White rappers can pull it off too, in case you haven’t noticed. And they aren’t trying to be gangster, they’re just throwing their money at luxuries.

lol that is so true i see these black guys wearing pink t-shirts and i always thought that pink was for girls to wear only. i bet that first black to wear pink was probably a closeted gay man and known as the baddest guy in the block and every single little black kid wanted to be like him and started wearing pink and then it went on from there
